Winnetka and Evanston

On Saturday November 8th Cathy and I went to Winnetka to the Modernism show.
As you can see we had our first traces of SNOW that day. Then we traveled to Evanston to the spice house, a place I heard about on public radio. The smells there were amazing. We baught some Vanilla from Madagasgar, Paprica from Hungry, Thia Red Pepper, and Cumin. Then we had lunch at Prairie Joes. Quite the eclectic place. I had a “carrot salad burrito” with fetta cheese and hummus.

Trip to Brightonwoods Orchard

We went out to the Brightonwoods Orchard near Bong Rec Area and purchased winesap apples for the sourkraut stuffing that goes so well with the Thanksgiving roasted goose. We also picked out two bottles of apple wine for the dinner.
